| This is an introductory course into High School English. Students will be assigned a variety of short stories, novels, and essays that will help expose them to the world of English. They can expect to have homework and class work that reflects an understanding of materials read and discussed. Lastly, students will also cover a basic knowledge of grammar throughout the year. | |||||
| American Literature | |||||
Am. Lit. is a
course designed to allow junior level students to experience
authors, poets, and public speakers who all had one thing in
common: they were American. Students will read novels,
short stories, essays, and non-fictional articles. In
addition, students will be expected to prepare for the ACT
throughout the course of the year. Lastly, students will be
expected to improve their grammatical and rhetorical skills through
advanced lessons and worksheets.
